The church, dating from the 18th century, was founded by Udrecan Culcer in 1735 and is one of the oldest churches in Bucharest.

Udricani supported the social institutions and promoted the cultural commitment of the eighteenth century, such as “Settlements Udricani” Hospice and Romanian schools.

In the 18th century, the Romanian school Udricani and the school of calligraphy were founded. Like the schools and the old house “Protopopul Teodor Economu”, it was built on the church property in 1877.
